This term, Year 5 has been learning about, and investigating, materials and their properties.  In our last lesson, we had to find the best way to separate mixtures.  

We had flour and pasta, rice and water and sand and paperclips. 

The equipment we could use was a sieve, filter paper or a magnetic wand. 

Which would you choose to separate each mixture? 

We made our decisions and then explained our choices. 

It was lots of fun.
